The head vampire/infected came to Neville's house to get his mate back and Neville and Anna end up cornered in the lab(same as in the original version). The infected guy made marks on the plexiglass that look like a butterfly. The infected woman that Neville captured had a butterfly tattoo on her shoulder. This makes Neville realize that the alpha male came to get his mate. He opens the doors and releases the female. As he is looking around the lab, Neville sees the photos on his wall of the previous infected people that he had captured (and ultimately killed). He realizes that, to the infected people, he must seem like the monster because he has been capturing and killing the infected.

but i didnt like the alternate ending it suckedd
it wouldnt have explained the title of the movie and wouldve been very pointless.. when neville died it kinda helped the movie be a better film! but it was fantaaaaaaastic! i loooved it
its a very sad movie too i definitely cried.
