Just think of how unlikely that is to happen.
Find a way to make it funny--laugh when someone's head gets ripped off and think about how hard it will be for them to walk around. Make it corny lol i know it sounds dumb but it works. Good luck

well if ur friends a boy hold his hands if its a girl say u have to use the restroom :D

Don't think about how scary it will be; just sit back and enjoy the scariness

Take a crash course in scary movies. I've done such a thing. I got so scared of watching something that I finally decided to watch The Exorcist. Now I don't recommend this because that is the scariest movie ever made if you are religious, but it is a technique that helped me... Also, what helps me is to watch the movie, not in a theater, but at home. Wait for it to come out on DVD. I feel much more comfortable and relaxed watching a scary movie at home rather in the theater. Don't be pressured to go see movies in theaters although this might not be the case (pressure). I watch scary movies at home sometimes because I can laugh at them to make myself not scared. Or maybe, you shouldn't go see scary movies. If you don't like them and they freak you out you should take a break for a while and wait until you can handle it. I know 21 year olds who are worse than you so don't be ashamed. Sometimes being absolutely terrified of scary movies never passes. You are who you are I guess.

Just shut your eyes. You can generally know when a scary part is coming...they will be no background music, noise, etc. Then when the scary part happens there will be a sudden burst of noise. When you hear people in the movie talking again, it's probably safe to open your eyes.

Scary movies isn't for everybody.

reality is scarier than any "scary movie"

if you watch enuff scary movies you will know when the scary bits are coming, it is generally where the person is walking around and the music cuts out, then you know they are prepping you for a scare. when that happens, close your eyes!

If you must go, sit near a good friend and don't look at the worst scenes.Get lots of food and read some bad reviews about the movie. You can always put your (darkest) sunglasses on (looks weird, but works 4 me).
Good luck!
I'm 30 yrs old and I can't handle scary movies...nothing wrong with that.

As soon as you get home look up Little Johnny Jokes and it will get your mind off the fright,,,
Or go home and put in your best comedy film and watch that or watch comedy Central...or any comedy movies you might have at home...or your favorite kind of movie that will get your mind off the scary movie...
It always helps my son.....

You've gotten some really good answers. I think the best idea is to watch some at home first with the lights on- go with classics instead of recent ones- Psycho, Friday the 14th, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street. They can be scary, but because they are older, they probably won't seem as scary to you. Zombie movies tend to be silly, so that's a way to go.Vampire movies aren't as scary to me for some reason, so try that. A final way to go is to watch funny horror movies such as Scream or Shaun of the Dead, so that you desensitize yourself to the violence.

I used to hate scary movies when I was younger, but as you get older, they just aren't that scary anymore. My husband also loves them, so I had to deal. Other than giving it time, you can hide your head in your shirt. That's what I do.
