Only scary movie that qualifies is Shutter. Seems like a decent movie but reminds me too much of The Ring or The Grudge.
if you don't mind subtitles, more or less every japanese scary movie will be great! the japanese original version of the new american 'one missed call' (originally entitled Chakushin Ari - you should be able to find it on youtube or any other movie site) is great.
they have an actual plot, unlike many of the american scary movies nowadays.
if youre not into subtitles, Blair Witch Project is good. I watched that when i was 15 and it gave me a fright, although i never usually get scared. the storyline was cleverly achieved

and any of the "halloween" movies are good you know the ones with micheal myers.
not the actor that plays in austin powers but the killer.
The Sixth Sense is pretty good for making you jump and then a couple hours or even days later it sets in and totally freaks people out. There are no good scary movies in the theater right now.
