"Only Time" by Enya. This was used in an episode of "Third Watch" where one of the paramedics was fatally shot.
Who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time...
And who can say if your love grows,
As your heart chose?
Only time...
(interlude)
Dee dah day, dee dah day, dee dah day
Dee dah doe day doe, dee doe day doe
Who can say why your heart sighs,
As your love flies?
Only time...
And who can say why your heart cries,
When your love lies (dies)?
Only time...
(interlude)
Dee dah day, dee dah day, dee dah day
Dee dah doe day doe, dee doe day doe
Who can say when the roads meet,
That love might be,
In your heart.
And who can say when the day sleeps,
If the night keeps all your heart?
Night keeps all your heart...
(long interlude)
Dee dah dah dah
Dee dah dah dah
Dee dah dah dah
Dee dah dah dah
Who can say if your love grows,
As your heart chose?
Only time...
And who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time...
Who knows?
Only time...
Who knows?
Only time...

i agree with jeffreyj. Everybody hurts , by rem, or that one song where the time goes back and the dude is on a motorcycle and he dies. I have seen two versions, one where he comes back and one where he dies. LIke the one where he comes back, myself. LOVE a happy ending!! Ok, but i would say the one by avril levine " when your gone".
Hold on by Sarah Mclachlan
and if you're going to go with Hallelujah go with the Jeff Buckley version....
