What's the name of this movie where these girls go to a detention center?!
Question: A while back I was watching this movie on one of the movie channels I can't remember which one but...
There was these young girls in the movie and they were either black or hispanic, I'm not real sure, but they both ended up in a detention center. One of the girls went because she was out with her boyfriend and the cops came and he put a gun in her backpack and ran and she got caught with it. And the other girl went for selling drugs, her brother had a mental illness they was hanging out one night and when they was on their way home some guys started picking on them and one of them called the girl a dyke and she knocked him out, while that was happening her brother was trying to run home and get his asthma medicine, but he died before he could get help. Thats as far as I got, I didn't see the beginning or the end, but it seemed like a pretty good movie. Anybody know the name of it.

It sounds familiar but I’m not sure, I’ll do some digging. How old/new is it? Do you remember any of the actors?
