Why does Hollywood take an interesting story and turn it into a crappy one like !
Question: So a group of mostly Asian-American students at MIT makes thousands of dollars in Las Vegas with their smarts. This true story subsequently forms the basis for a bestselling novel, one that could certainly make for an interesting film/documentary...
And what does Hollywood do? Takes the story and transforms it into a generic morality-tale with Anglo-Saxons and romance. Seriously, the main character needs Vegas money to pay for Harvard Medical School??? Is he so mentally-challenged that he doesn't realize he can pay his debt off *with* a medical degree? You know, like *most* medical students? I thought he was supposed to be a genius.

um i saw the documentary on the mit blackjack team and i didnt see that most of htem were asian...
but what really bugs me is that the main guy, cant think of his name, was russian. i mean didnt they call him "the russian" and didnt he pose as a russian arms dealer? so why they picked a british guy to play the part didnt make any sense to me...
I dunno. Why dont you ask the guy who did it. Its based off a true story.
