Answers: mines the thing.
thanks to all who relply.
John Carpenter rules!
Have to agree with you on The Thing, but I just watched In The Mouth Of Madness the other day and it still runs a close second.
The Thing is excellent. One of my all time favourites. Also the oridginal Alien. I tend to like Si Fi horrors. But Hostal & the Saw are right up there.
Shop Rat:- mouth of madness. Whats it about. i am going to look it up now.
The Entity.
Based on a true story, so they say. That kinda makes it scarier for me.
The Thing was pretty scary, too.
xx
Dawn of the Dead.
Hands down. Its got humour, a great plot, and blood and violence galore.
My bloody valentine.
It's about 20 years old
Or Poltergeist
The Excorcist.
Two reasons that make it scary,
1. It is based on a true story
2.(you have to be catholic to understand how scary it really is.)
charlie and the chocolate factory,, horror , had to go out and buy some . gained 4lb tonight. loved it
Dawn Of The Dead (remake)
The magic roundabout.
night of the demon,Dana Andrews-wow.
SHINE
poltergeist.
Slither... it's hilarious and disgusting, especially that fat woman who gives birth to all those worms!
Tacky Nightmare on Elm Street!
TOOO MANYY !
* saw series is my fave though ahha *
Dawn of The Dead
The Shining. Slow chills, shocking climax.
Silent hill is great
But its confusing though
"Saw" series
"Wrong Turn" 1 and 2
And
"The Hills Have Eyes" 1 and 2
Few of my favourites already mentioned, so I'll add, "The Exorcism of Emily Rose". Again based on a true story.
It`s got to be the original version of "The Wicker Man" A clever and compelling plot. Its not a shocker in the modern sense of blood and gore but rather the insidious nature of the horror. The music from the film is excellent.
boris karloff was the master
The Exorcist. lol, you don't have to be Catholic for it to be scary!
Physco....I just love watching this old movie. I love the part where he pulls the shower curtain open and has the knife stabbing. Everytime I am home alone and have to take a shower I think of this. (especially at night )
The Abandoned. The Shining .Reeker.1408. etc etc.
Hi my favourite is Stephen Kings
Pet cemetery 1 and 2.
with the little boy in the first one called Gage.
my number one horror films will always be Stephen King ones. :)
An Aussie film called Braindead (1993, Elizabeth Moody). If you enjoy it bloody and gory and funny, this is it. The scene with the zombie baby in the park is hilarious.
