I agree... there was no need for the animation. They could have easily used CGI for the Dragon and for Grendel or the effects of Angelina Jolie... but the rest could have been shot regularly. It really irritated me the whole film....
also... why did Beowulf feel it was necessary to shout his name numerous times throughout the film. he just kind of did it for no reasons at certain points it seemed... is that just me?

no it is brill but i think they did in animation because the violence if it was live action would have made the film a 15 where it wouldnt og got enougth audience.
After seeing the trailer I knew that I wouldn't go and see it.
Seems I was right.
