Beatles - help 1965 a boring movie?!

Question: the soundtracks are great but the Filmplot is so silly, boring and doesn′t make a sense at all.

I try to compare to other two movies "Led Zeppelin" The Song remains the same 1973 & "Deep Purple" Come Hell or High Water 1993. they are much much better and enjoyable.

...silly?? Doesn't make sense??? Perhaps, but one has assume an understanding of the time period in history, when this film first came out; there was a dire need to latch onto, and desperately hold onto a certain flowery and psychadelic free-spiritedness...there was a sense of waning, almost lost innocence, in the advent of the Kennedy assassination, and the precursor to war in Vietnam. A film like "Help", which was primarily meant to theatrically showcase the classic Beatles tunes, in a way that at least minimally, ties the 'silly' story together, exhued that need to embraced that rebellious free-spiritedness, despite at times, being enhanced by, shall we say, illicit 'mind-expanding' substances....

....movies like the Monkees' 1968 film, "Head", and Sonny & Cher's 1967 film, "Good Times", did pretty much the same thing...

....the other films, which you mentioned, are definitely highly praised classics in their own right, but they were mainly conceptual rock concert type films, with no real storyline, though very much like "Help", they were exclusively produced to showcase the artists they magnificently represent...

I thought it was boring when it came out and a disappointment after the enjoyable 'A Hard Days Night' and was, back then, a huge Beatles fan.

You're right. I love the Beatles, but it was crazy, Thieves want Ringo's ring?
I'll take "A Hard Days Night" anyday.
At least it was better than Yellow Submarine.

Try the Yellow Submarine then, I think thats great, I have been trying to find it on DVD for ages!

as a beatles fan i must try and defend this film.
may i suggest that the poor plot is more than compensated for by the music. The beatles were the first to go into movies and thus it would have been difficult to get established producers to invest, anyway musicals always have poor plots, you cant jhave everything. yes the plot is shallow and so are the llyrics ,but the thing about the beatles was they started good and just got better

Oh, I liked it. It WAS silly but it was fun. HDN has more of a documentary feel to it. And YS, well, they were on tons of drugs then, weren't they.
