Was the Poltergiest flick(s) really cursed ?!

Question: i've read a bit about this, but i want to REALLY get under the skin of this one...so feel free to bombard me with as much detail as you possibly can, links, quotes, stories, names of cast - the nature of their deaths , or anything which dispels any notion of such a thing being true.

If there are some unanswered questions or weird events in this flick, also feel free to share.

I grew up in the 80s and watched the first poltergiest flick sometime in late 90, early 91.

Apparantly 4 actors that had roles in the Poltergeist movies died with in 6 years of making the movies. The first was Dominique Dunne who played the oldest daughter in the first movie. Her boyfriend choked her to death in 1982. I remember that being in the paper and on the news. Next was Julian Beck, who played Kane in the #2. He died in 1985 from stomach cancer which he had been diagnosed with before the movie. Will Sampson (Taylor, the medicine man, in #2) died of post-operative kidney failure and malnutrition in 1987. And finally, Heather O'Rourke(Carole Anne) died due to a misdiagnosis of the flu in 1988. It was actually septic shock due to acute bowel obstruction. She was only 12.
There have been several occurances that people contribute to a "curse" including angry spirits because the producers used real human skeletal remains. Check the link. Pretty interesting...

well. i have heard of a curse and it seems like some the of actors have past during or right after the filming...but who knows...

I've watched interviews with the actors and documentaries on the trilogy. Everyone agrees: There is no curse. They say that, if you pay attention to any film or even film series, there will be a fair share of deaths connected to it. Several of the people who died already were ill, one terminally, when they made the movies.

Heather O'Rourke had a chronic medical condition
Julian Beck had terminal cancer, which makes a number of his lines in "Poltergeist II" especially poignant and troubling.
Will Sampson, also of "Poltergeist II", had heart trouble and underwent surgery, dying of complications.

In Dominique Dunne's case, she was working on another project~"V" (TV miniseries)~when her boyfriend attacked her, sending her into a coma and ultimately resulting in her death. I wouldn't call that connected to "Poltergeist".

I'm not sure that there were any other deaths, not that I recall. There were as many connected to "The Exorcist". Is that film cursed? No, it isn't.
