Cuttin it close to the bone aren't ya? Anyway,there are a number of reasons that "Singin In The Rain" got moved up and remember these are largely arbitrary choices. Other films may have been moved off or dropped down in the listings,but this was always intended to be elastic as new "classics" come up in the ranks. Just because a film is 50 years old doesn't make it a classic. What does that is whether you can watch a film agagain and again and still find things in it you didn't catch the first time around and they have the ability to hold your attention,even though you know how it will all turn out. Classic films are timeless
Well, at a guess I'd say it has to be because something else got down-rated. What else moved down in the list? Or was it based on a new survey of the AFI members?
Maybe because Debbie Reynolds is the only survivor.
