He was hallucinating. It had been so long since he had seen another person, and he wasn't expecting the dummy to be there he thought it was moving.
He (Will Smith) was supposed to be losing his mind and it was his mind playing tricks on him.
i heard that it was one of the stunts men ghost that previously did a movie on that particular set who burned up and died they say his ghost comes back and messes around with things
