Damn. It's already been answered, but I'll answer it anyway, because I love the movie as well. It's a French film called "The Professional." It starred Jean Reno and Natalie Portman (in her feature debut), and was directed by renowned Frech director Luc Besson. It was rereleased in France in 1996 under the title "Leon: Version Integrale."
