Best stephen king movie?!

Question: explain why

Answers: explain why

Oh, I don't know if I could pick one.

Misery, because of Kathy Bates. She was incredible.

The Shining: because of Jack Nicholson.

Green Mile, very well done.

Shawshank Redemption: ditto.

Salem's Lot: the newer TV version did a pretty good job.

The Stand: it was fair. Would have been better if HBO did it.

The stand just is

"Misery". I really found this movie to be creepy and edge of the seat stuff. The story line is good about an author who gets kidnapped by a crazed fan.

Stand By Me

This is my choice because it was in this movie that River Pheonix had his best performance, I think. R.I.P.

I really love The Green Mile though.

umm i dont remember the name but its recent the one with the bugs and the spiders that they traped in the grocery store..because its proving us the army and government is doing stuff that we dont know

The Shawshank Redemption! One of the best movies I've seen! It's all about having HOPE and to make your dreams come true.

Dead Zone - closest to book
Shawshank Redemption - his best non-horror work
Salem's Lot - lack of special effects helped story get through
Firestarter - a young Heather Locklear; terrible ending switching from Rolling Stone

I think The Green Mile is his best movie.

The characters are ecclectic, from the evil, to the most kind, and the actors chosen to play those roles did an amazing job.

I also loved how the movie combined different elements such as humor, violence, tenderness and the very poignant.

It was also very impressive to me that Stephen King could come up with such a wonderful story so different than his usual stuff.

None. You can't possibly fit a Stephen King book into a 2 hour movie successfully without losing all his vivid detail and style of writing. The Stand still remains my favorite book, but I hesitated to watch the mini-series. After reading it three times (the long version), I had a mental picture of the characters and places and I didn't want to see them butcher it. I broke down and watched it, but soooo much was left out that it ended up being a real disappointment.

the shining.its scary.

The Shawshank Redemption - it is excellent

There are a lot of other good ones, though.

Stand By Me is my personal fav. It was close enough to the book, that when I read the short story The Body, I could literally hear the characters voices in the dialog. I thought that was awesome.
The Shining was spooky and I was just about right on. I'm glad that in the movie, that removed King's moving topiaries. Personally I thought that part of the book was stupid, and the maze in the movie was so much better.
