Grease, it is just THAT cool.
I've always loved Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. My wicked step-mother wouldn't allow us to watch cartoons so we had to watch her "wholesome" movies. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is one of the few musicals I can watch and actually enjoy. I still enjoy cartoons though lol.
Old musical would be Tommy. New Musical would be Sweeny Todd and Across the Universe.
Tommy I liked because it was my first musical that I saw and enjoyed. It had my type of music in it.
Sweeny Todd, becuase out of all the most recent musicals it had good talent in it and was done by a great Director.
Across the Universe....just because I like the Beatles and everything that was in the musical was based off of a beatles song.
I absolutely love "Singing in the Rain" and "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers."

Grease, it was my 1st movie. Other than the fact that no other musical tops it......ONJ was hot!
West Side Story--The music and dancing is unbelievable. The story is also really good. Though it's based on Shakepeare's Romeo and Juliet, Director Wise really takes the story and makes it his own. The emotional content in the movie makes it not just worthy to be one of the best movie musicals but one of the best movies period.

I think high school musical 1 is the best musical i've ever seen. I love everything about that movie.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch. It's just so revolutionary- one of the first punk rock musicals, with an actual depth to it.
