I'm trying to find the title of a documentary made about a Woodstock-type co!

Question: It featured Jefferson Airplane, the Rolling Stones, and others. Also, Hell's Angels were used as event security, which resulted in one of the Angels knifing someone for messing with his bike!

The concert was the Free Concert at Altamont, outside of San Fransisco. It was the exact opposite of Woodstock, and the worst experience of my young life. A young black man was killed, and there was so much violence, whereas Woodstock was all about peace and love and beauty. Jagger did stop singing long enough to get an ambulance called, but then finished singing. I guess if he hadn't, the erupting violence would have been worse. the setup and the security were the worst in the history of rock. this was truly the "day the music died." I think the documentary was called Gimme Shelter. The hell's angel didn't knife the guy for messing with his bike, the guy had pulled a gun and was waving it around, so they knifed him and beat him to death.

DMB in Woodstock Documentary
By Waldo Jaquith

"Jul.12.2001
A documentary entitled "My Generation" will be airing on the Bravo network in August, according to the production company's press release. The documentary compares the spontaneity and open nature of the original Woodstock with the commerce-driven sequels of recent years. It will feature concert footage, of course, from acts like Jimi Hendrix, Cypress Hill, The Who, Santana (circa 1969), and, of course, DMB. Dave Matthews Band performed at Woodstock '99 on 07/24/99."
