The english patient was soo beautiful...... i didn't actually get the plot of cold mountain but he had such beautiful vision in his direction.. almost like an art book or something... he died all ready?

It's so sad that we lost another great filmmaker.

My favorite of his films is "The Talented Mr. Ripley."

I would have to say that it's a tie between Cold Mountain and The English Patient. I love the story of unrequited love in Cold Mountain and the story of Ada and Inman. But, the acting and direction are superb in The English Patient. Minghella turned what I thought was a pretty boring book in to an intelligent, beautiful love story. I remember sobbing during the scene where Lazslo carries Katharine in to the desert and takes her home. Minghella will be missed as a true artist.

To be honest, I disliked both Cold Mountain and English Patient. I have yet to see Truly, Madly Deeply but I adore Alan Rickman so I shall have to see it soon. I would have to say Talented Mr. Ripley is my fave film of his.
Very sad btw, so young too. RIP.

My favourite has to be Truly Madly Deeply.

Today the Isle of Wight lost a very special man.
