Love, Honour and obey. A great comedy gangster flick about 2 rival firms. I love these kind of films and another fave on a serious note has to be Casino. Really brutal. Most recently Rise of the footsoldier is good. A story about Carlton Leach and his firm of heavys leading up to the infamous Rettendom triple murders where his best mate was shot along with 2 others.
For me the best ganster movie was "The Krays". It starred the Kemp brothers, Martin and Gary. It portrayed the Krays life from young boys and how they came to live the lives they did. Apparently, the Kemp brothers researched the Krays through Charlie Kray who when he saw the film was said to have been disappointed that it wasn't true to life, but then movie makers do "glam" things up a bit to make the film a hit.

For reality - Casino. (Robert DeNiro, Sharon Stone, Joe Pesci)
It's raw, ugly and truly disturbing - the way I imagine the real world of gangsters is like.
For nostalgia - Godfather part 1 and 2. (Marlon Brando, Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino)
Lovely sepia-toned violence.
For romance - A Bronx Tale. (Robert De Niro, Chazz Palminteri, Joe Pesci)
Everybody say ahhh.
For pure glossy fiction based on reality - Mobsters. (Christian Slater, Patrick Dempsey, Richard Grieco and Costas Mandylor)
Ashamed to say I still like it.
