will smith is a better actor than eddie murphy has ever been. Eddi murphy used to be hilarious, but hasn't been funny for 20 years, will smith on the other hand used to be kind of funny, but has gotten into more of the serious acting. So, i would choose will smith over ediie murphy.
Will Smith. He has looks, humor, and talent. He has also been able to branch off froom just comedy into other things like the pursuit of happyness and I am legend.

throughout the eighties and early nineties I would have said The 'Edster', hands down. However, William has done some terrific work and always makes me smile...

In my opinion, Eddie Murphy because I find him more entertaining and a lot funnier than Will Smith.
Both Will Smith and Eddie Murphy are very talented and successful men, though.
It's tough to decide who is better.
This is surprisingly easy, Will Smith is the best actor,(wider variety of roles) and Eddie Murphy is the greater comedian, although not as affable as Will Smith.

I think that both are great actors and both have their good points and I do not believe that either have any bad points at all. If I had to pick only one it would be will smith for the timing in comedy, he knows exactly when to deliver a line and how to deliver it aswell, though as I said I would not be able to knock either as theyt are both great, And y did u not sat who you liked better?
