Question: I think that it was a spy or caper movie of some kind, and it looked like it was done in the 60's or '70's; the scene that I remember, is that there were several pairs of books, one red and one blue, located in secret compartments, in several places around the world, and they were all shown, one by one, having been stolen by some unidentified thief...

...at first, you're gonna think that I'm crazy for implying that what you have described has something to do with the comic book character of Wonder Woman, but that's what came to mind when I read your description...
...in 1974, the ABC network attempted their first stab at producing a series, based upon Wonder Woman; this was a few years before Lynda Carter took the role. A pilot movie, which contemporized the super-heroine character, was produced, and actress/athlete Cathy Lee Crosby played the role, against an unseen villain (...at least, until the end of the film) played by Ricardo Montalban. The film played very much like an action spy movie, with superhero connotations, and very unlike what was depicted in the Wonder Woman comics books (...although the overall look of the film, was definitely comic-bookish)...

It kind of sounds like a description of the PC Game Myst. Could be way off base from what you're asking though.
