Misery (1990)
IMDB synopsis:
Best-selling novelist Paul Sheldon (James Caan) is on his way home from his Colorado hideaway after completing his latest book when his car goes off the road and crashes during a snowstorm. Paul is critically injured but is rescued by former nurse Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates), Paul's "No. 1 fan", who takes Paul back to her remote house in the mountains.
The film is based on Stephen King's novel "Misery". Kathy Bates received the Oscar for Best Actress, the Chicago Film Critics Association's Best Actress award, and the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture~Drama.
