Have you seen the movie Martian Child?!
Question: I thought the kid was really martian.
i don't get one thing though.
if he wasn't really a martian how did he taste color, have martian wishes (that came true), screamed when he got a hair cut, talk that weird martian talk, and how come he freaked out when he saw a dog?
some of that stuff didn't make sence. and what happened to his parents? why did they leave him in that place?

There is a disease where you can taste color. It's called synesthesia. People with it also can see shapes and colors for sound, taste words, etc. If you want to read a pwnsome book with the disease in it, read A Mango Shaped Space by Wendy Mass. Quite a great read! As for the martian talk and stuff, I have no idea. It was a movie, though. So there is no realism to it :)
Oh Yes. I went throught the whole movie wondering the same things. I supposed all the answers would appear in the end, but no. That was a weird movie that wasn't quite as well-thought out as it should've been. There are no real answers =/
well, as far as tasting color.. I think it was mostly luck.. but the dyes might have a slightly different taste. most children scream when their hair is cut.. it doesn't automatically mean it hurts them.. The martian wishes were luck.. and children raised in homes without dogs.. tend to freak out when they first see one.. especially if it knocks them over within seconds.
This is a story written by a sci fi author after he adopted his own martian child.. watch the special features on the dvd.. they have some interviews with the kid .. (he's now more of an adult than a kid.. he talked a little bit about why he thought he was a martian at that age.)
As for the parents abandoning him there.. who knows.. why do any parents abandon children?.. I understand giving them up if you really can't take care of them.. but abandoning them to die in the open like that.. I doubt anyone will ever know the answer.
