In "The Godfather", during Michael's trial, who was Frankie Pentan!

Question: ...and why did Frankie change his mind once he saw him at the trial?

Answers: ...and why did Frankie change his mind once he saw him at the trial?

His older brother was Vincenzo. Frankie saw in his face that he would have broken the code of honor and silence and shamed his family.
Salvatore Po played Vincenzo Pentangeli.

The finished film leaves unclear exactly what about his brother's presence caused Frankie to change his story. An early version of the script, however, details that Frankie's brother is himself a hardened Mafia chieftain in Sicily. Shocked that Frankie is about to betray the Corleones, his brother appears to remind Frankie that he must not break the Mafia's code of silence, Omertà. His brother's mere presence and icy stare directed at Frankie serve as a threat that if Frankie follows through with his planned testimony, retribution will be taken against his former mistress and their child, who are living in Sicily under his brother's guardianship.

I thought it was because the Corleones were basically telling Frankie, "Maybe we can't rub you out if you roll over on us -- but we can do your brother."

But maybe the "code of silence" answer is right and I'm wrong.

Puppet is right... I also believe that Frankie was concerned for his brother's safety (since his brother seems oblivious to the nature of the procedings) Though the family doesn't often harm innocents, there is a threatening tone
