know exactly what you mean!!the best part of movies now days are usually what you see in the trailers!much over rated bag acting big pay checks and special affects=trash.i mean hello jude law they call him an actor!!

yes

You'd have to as Derek Goins. He watches every movie.

You're seeing the wrong movies. Try some of the independent films or documentaries that are out. Perhaps they would be more to your liking. There are many outstanding movies around, but they don't get the kind of hype or publicity that "Drillbit Taylor" or "10,000 B.C." get.

'Juno' was great, very funny.

'Michael Clayton' is great too - brilliant thriller, very low-key, very exciting, the last ten minutes are worth the whole movie. George Clooney rocks in it.

yes, the last couple of new movies we watched the endings sucked big time!!! I think they have ran out of good ideas for good movies.

if they aren't the only two stars in hollywood the just remake movies, see the aren't comfortable enough right now to take there thumbs out of there asses to actually make good movies.

I agree with you...Back then even comedies are Oscar-worthy genre..But now, movies suck..Seriously, have you ever seen a movie these day that can live up the hype and legendary status like A Orange Clockwork,The Godfather,Pulp Fiction and etc...mmmm,no?

Maybe No Country can but the ending of the movie suck balls!!

hmm meh not all film are rubbish, people these days expect too much

It has been said that most movies (something like 90%) don't make a profit. The most profitable films have usually be "family" films, especially the ones with a strong moral message. Sometimes there are exceptions like "Titanic" but only because it hit a nerve with young teen girls (it was their "Star Wars", they kept getting back in line to see it).

Big expensive blow-em-up flicks make big money but also cost a lot of money, they usually only make a profit in video. The "indie" movies while considered to be high quality in fact are usually financial failures, most are not "family" movies (don't take the kiddies to see "No Country For Old Men"). "Juno" is also an exception to that rule, again due to the teen girl audience factor, it made 20 times it's $6M budget.

Many people are indeed unsatisfied with all genres of films, even the Indies, because the studios prefer to promote films that are "safe" for them to take a financial risk on, something that can turn in some kind of limited revenue in video, thus Bens Stiller and Owen Wilson will always have a career while actors with integrity will continue to bus tables in restaurants.

I can't answer that.
