Do you think it's okay to be 4-5 and already watching pg-13 movies?!
Question: That's when I started watching them, and I had (and still have) good parents (as in they aren't real "laid back"). I Wanted to know if this was unusual.

These days, no. You can get away with a lot in movies and still have it rated PG-13. Movie people push the envelope as to what they put in it and want it rated PG-13 so more of the public can go see it, which translates into more box office money. The Ring is PG-13, and I sure as hell wouldn't even think of letting any 4-5 year old watch it.
yea.. it depends on the content though. but yeah i gues
Well, I suppose it depends what movies they were...and were they given to you to watch or were your parents watching them and you joined in? I was watching movies rated higher then PG at a young age as well. I think I saw "IT" when I was 8....but anyway..I would say it depends on the film. I think POTC is rated PG13 and I would let my 2 1/2 year old watch it.
*Edit* If it's just bad language..then I'd probably say it was ok..I didn't start cussing till I was a teenager..so obviously the movies I watched didn't cause me any damage.
I would also have to agree with that movies these days push the envelope of what can be considered PG13...so I would say it depends on what year you were born.
it all depends. pg-13 movies range from Transformers and POTC (I think) to movies like...The Ring. I'd let my 4-5 year old watch them if I think they're mature enough and the movies aren't too violent/sadistic. I hate the American rating system though. Most PG-13 movies easy pass for PG or G movies in my book. Seriously, two people making love is at least a PG-13. I'd stop my kid from watching the really violent movies at that age (although they should see the consequences of violence, so I'd rather see blood from a gunshot then nothing at all so that the kid doesn't get unrealistic assumptions about the effects of violence) but I wouldn't have a problem with them watching movies that involve two people making love.
It's all about the child. I started watching R movies really early, and I would consider myself a lot more mature then a friend I know who wasn't allowed to watch R movies until he was 17.
There is a reason that they are rated pg 13 and not g
Atleast is aint porn.
Depends on the Year....
80's are worse
good advise
dont let the tv raise your children
It screwed my algebra skills all up....
