10,000 BC movie suitable for my son?!

Question: I was just wondering if the 10,000 BC movie would be okay for my 81/2 yr old son to watch. I had a look at the website and t reccomended 13 yrs and over. Is this just because of violence? He is pretty mature for his age and has watched similar movies before with no problems. Is there any sexual references?

There is nothing sexual in the movie, some violence I guess you could call it. It isn't near as gruesome as 300 and Beowulf! It shows means to survive is all. Not a blood and guts type movie at all.

By the way it is a very good movie in my opinion, I found very touching.

The movie, isn't that bad, a lot of violence, very gruesome, it's sort of like the movie 300 and beowolf, it should be suitable for a 12 year, unless, he gets nightmares, or something, or takes the movie to seriously.

probably nothing more than a kiss.

but besides that its just violence.

im not sure, watch it for your self here,

its a great movie, but i dont think it would be that great for a 8 year old. it doesnt have much sexual content but its pretty gruesome and violent. if your son has nightmares from movies, it wouldnt be such a good idea. mabey when he is 11 or 12

I wouldn't show it to my son if he was under 10 or so.

It "acts" like a movie that is a sort of entertainment documentary, but has so many historical inaccuracies... I know I wouldn't want my kids to have such bull**** in their heads and think it's true.

I haven't seen it my self. So, I have no idea about sexual references (though I doubt there would be much).

I was in the movie theaters last week, however, and saw the preview. It looked like an intense movie. It looked gory and violent. In the theaters, its bound to be a little frightening due to the volume of the audio and size of picture.

It all comes down to whether you want to take your son or not. In my opinion 8 1/2 might be a little to young to see this movie. It's up to you. Just hope he doesn't get nightmares ;)

You could show him the original-kidding he would be bored to tears or laugh his butt off. It looks really good. If he likes those movies show him Caveman with Ringo Starr, I saw it at that age and it was really funny.

I wouldn't take him. Apparently it's highly inaccurate in terms of historical truth. I read a review that was highly critical. I don't know whether or not you should take him based on content but on general principle I wouldn't take him
