How do people justify watching "SAW"?!

Question: How do people justify watching crappy movies like this? I always hear "oh it has a good plot", but the first thing they tell me is that they like the gore and torture. Is it now common for people to interested in people being tortured?

I just thought I'd like to mention that it seems as though society is being more and more desensitized by crap like this. How do you think people would have reacted had this film been shown 50 years ago? Christ, I know there were cowboy shows that were taboo to show because they had bar brawls.

Whatever, more potentional serial killers and perverse individuals to be seen in the next few years.

dude finally somebody that does not like that movie.. ur a hero man. that series is just so bad. creative ideas of how to kill somebody but what use is that gonna be to us? not scary at all and just boring for the most parts. Saw is just a waste of time and cannot be justified whatsoever

MEDIA does not make serial killers be what they are. Their mentality and mind has already been formed. There was still Ed Gein, Al Fish, and John Wayne Gacy way before SAW, right?
And before Marilyn Manson too, right?
I am so sick of people blaming peoples mental disorders on, "Oh, I heard Eminem say it." Just like he says, he said it, doesn't mean you gotta do it. Each person is their own person and while people with Serial Killer mentality may be drawn to movies like this, movies like Saw do NOT make serial killers.

Parents and people need to take responsibility for their own actions, instead of blaming it on the media.

EDIT~When you say that Saw is going to create more serial killers and perverse people, movies are media!!!! And don't call me NAMES.

it's the movies. i can watch that stuff all day long in the movies. But if i get a papper cut in real life i faint.

there has been gore movies for a long time just not as mainstream.

People like putting themselves in a situtation like that and trying to decide what they would do. At least that's what I've found. Plus, sometimes the plot IS good, and you gotta know what happens next.

Also, just because people like watching them, does NOT make them serial killers! I know I would NEVER become a serial killer! I don't especially like watching the blood and gore, but I kinda like grossing myself out for some reason! I know its weird but, its just how I am! Also, I like laughing at the bad graphics when a terrible movie comes along.

Additionally, you cannot help society from changing. Its the way it goes. No matter what, in 50 years, the world will be a whole different place than now. 50 years ago there were so many fewer choices in every aspect of life: stores, jobs, hobbies, even clothing.

I don't know what draws people to horror movies, but it definately isn't to get ideas on how to torture their next victim.

Dude are you like 60 years old? Who ever watches Saw and then goes and kills, they were nuts before they watched the movie. Movies don't make killers, Doctors and religion do. Dr always blame it on mental disorders, church blames it on the way they were raise. How about people are just stupid. What ever happen to that diagnosed?

I actually watched the first three for the giant twists at the end. But I don't think I'll be watching the new one.

If half the people who are fans of these films knew that they're nothing more than a rip-off of "Seven (a.k.a Se7en)" and "Puppet Master" rolled into one they'd feel cheated and deceived. Everything's either a remake or an unecessary sequel. Especially in the horror genre. Talk about beating a dead horse. Why do we continue to support the same garbage? I just heard that they're remaking "Friday the 13th" ENOUGH!!! I hate Hollywood!!!!!!!!!

Its a good plot by the mastermind, just hope audience dont learn from him, but it seems never-ending to the killers, even the mastermind is dead, his apprentices continues his job an so on, like they wanted to kill all the people in the world. not surprised if they have SAW part 5 and 6 in future.

The only reason I watched was to see the GORGEOUS Monica Potter.
