Will HD-DVDs become the norm, & will it mean that I will have to replace my whol!

Question: A Standard Definition DVD will work just fine on an HD DVD Player, but not the other way around. So, it's not like going from Betamax to VHS.But, the Video Quality of HD DVD will look much better. So, to answer your Question, no, you won't have to replace your whole DVD Library when you get your new HD DVD Player.I'm holding out for an HD DVD Recorder, as I did for standard DVD.I'm not sure if a standard DVD will work with Blue Ray though, since that has emerged as the dominant High Definition Video Format.A Blue Ray DVD will play in a standard DVD Player, so I'm going to say that a DVD will play on a Blue Ray HD DVD Player.

Well HD-DVDS and prob the one that will dominate the market blu-ray can be played on normal dvd players, its kinda like VHS, dvds can be played on blu ray players so you wont have to replace ur lib. Circuit city is even offering full replacement cost for anyone that has purchased a HD-DVD player in the last 90 days to switch over to blu-ray, looks like hd-dvd is going to be out pretty soon.

... probably,You never know!
Because look at the tape players, no one uses those anymore... well a couple of people still uses them, but the majority of people today are using DVD players.
So since HD is doing good right now, i'd say in a couple of years from now it will probably be even more bigger than it is now.

... but who knows! :-)
