Why do Asian ghost stories make the best movies?!

Question: I find that it's because they don't have any useless dialogue when they don't need any, they can go on for a few minutes without saying a thing and lets the music/images draw you in uneasily to the story...

they do?

can you name these movies???? Ive no idea if ive seen one!!

the original movies are the best not the Hollywood versions..

i would agree, alot better than your predictable American scary moves

i like the sixth sense and the village by m night shalaman

In my opinon, those movies are terrible. They're not scarry at all. Just a waste of money. If a scary movie isn't rated R its not good at all.

Because the scariest things are the things we don't see..we've lost that element in the west...where everything has to be in your face.

I notice that too. Then Americans remake them.

because hollywood hasnt gotten a hold of them and turned them into a pile of crap.

Because Japanese directors aren't afraid to push the envelope. In the PG-13 horror movies they use children and creepy sound effects, ie. the grudge, the ring. In their rated R movies they show everything and they don't cut away. All the gore you could ever want and it deeply resonates with you, ie. Audition, Old Boy. Just my opinion.

They don't have as much commercialisation as other countries and have the freedom to use their imagination and filmaking skills to their best extent, because they don't have another line of projects waiting for them.
