Who earns more money the director or the movie star?!

Question: In a big budget movie, the main actor will make a bigger salary than the director. But the director may have a bigger piece of the back end such as ticket sales and dvd sales.

The star about 90% of the time.

But it depends on who has the biggest name.

i think the director

Depends on who's directing and who the star is. I would suggest going to IMDB and taking a look at the bios, if you have anyone particular in mind. Most (if not all) of them have the amount they made for several of their movies down at the bottom of the bio page.

depends. generally on who is more famous; who's presence makes the movie sell. if it's a first time director and a very famous actor then the actor will definately get more. if it is a famous director and an actor who is not yet proven to be a big box offive draw then the director will likely get paid more. on average, or if everybody is very famous, or equally unfamous, i don't know, it's a good question.

I'd think the director but stars get heaps of money if they do promotions and stuff, ads, etc.

star, unless the directors chair has "Speilberg" "Jackson" or "Ridley Scott"

others might inlcude Ratner, tony scott, fincher, mann
