The seminal "There will be Blood" with the genius that is Daniel Day-Lewis. The best film I've seen since Usual Suspects in fact it maybe the best film I've ever seen although time will be the judge of that.

There isn't any frontal nudity, car chases or "cap's in asses" but it is a brutally cutting / engrossing story of greed, hatred, ambition and ultimately destruction. It's the modern equivalent to Citizen Kane and no higher honour can be bestowed on a film.

If you're a budding writer, director or actor then this should be your bible. Two days on and I'm still in shock and awe at the power of performance from all concerned however Daniel Day-Lewis' performance is (in my humble opinion) the greatest ever put to celluloid. Brando, DeNiro, Bogart et al are great but this guy's by far the greatest, just watch and you'll see. The power of the performance was that that it took me 5 minutes to collect myself to be able to stand up and leave the cinema.

Everything about this film has been done right, the script says no more than it should with islands of the dryest of humour that almost feels inappropriate, the casting is exquisite, the direction and locations add to the turbulence and the music (although partly nicked from the Shining) carries the mood, not to mention the ending which is as brilliant as it is unexpected. If there was such a thing as perfection then this film would be it.

9.9999999999 / 10

Me and my mates went to see Untraceable and it was crap. We were really dissapointed with it. I was expecting a scary film but it was more of a psychological thriller. If I hadnt paid £6.20 for my ticket I wouldve walked out
