Did the director of harry potter cheat?!


Question: in harry potter and the prisoner of askaban(the movie)harry was useing a spell but hes only thirteen is there a way around this or did the director go againts JK's rules?

I know exatly what you're talkng about, and I've always been confused on that too.
I say that the director cheated, because there's no way Harry could have used that outside of school, except during the Quidditch thing (which was definately an emergency), and after he turned of age.
Or, maybe the director was hinting that Harry was being watched by the Ministry, because of Sirius Black, and no one wanted to get him in trouble.
Btw, the spell is called "Lumos."

Harry didnt know that he used that spell. He just did it without knowing so technically the director didnt cheat! (i hope you are talking about the part where the fat lady blows up)

I'm very confused by what you mean. I assume you mean the Expecto Patronum at he end.

That was in the book, so JK put it in there herself.

And he was on school grounds at that point so it was perfectly legal.
