Why does Batman Begins have such a low rating on Rotten Tomatoes?!

Question: It has a mere 84% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Critics complained for years about Batmans films and when the best possible one is made they weren't that impressed. In his review of Batman Forever Roger Ebert said that "the great Batman film has yet to be made." IIRC he enjoyed Batman Begins but I can't believe anyone didn't.

According to Wikipedia, it used a minimum of computer generated special effects. It deserves praise for that alone. But I also noticed something else while watching it - NO PRODUCT PLACEMENT. I didn't notice even one thing.

This movie should have had at least a 90% rating.

I think it has a lot to do with the way everyone sees the Batman Franchise, the TV Show was comical ( the old old version with Adam West) The cartoons weren't really geared for more than children, and now we have a Bat man movie that really isn't funny, Batman isn't doing one liner's and it is a real switch for everyone. For example, take a look at the first joker, and then the new joker, one's crazy yet funny, but the new one is just plain Evil. so I think that until everyone gets used to the movie's acting more like the comic book, it will continue to get lower ratings than it should

84 is still great though

I agree. I think it was the best one. I really liked Batman and Robin, but Batman Begins was fantastic!
I fell asleep with the first one, and I can't stand the second one and even though I adore Jim Carrey, the third one was only so-so.

In my opinion, the best Bruce Wayne was Val Kilmer and the best Batman was Michael Keaton.

Because there is so little humor in the Batman series Unlike the TV series the movie franchise is very dark Maybe fans are tired of a lack of humor
