Musical Movies I Should Rent?!

Question: So, I like musicals (talking movies here). I'm a big 'ol dork. I like Hairspray and Across the Universe and I vaguely remember liking Little Shop of Horrors when I was a kid but I haven't seen it for so long. What musical movies would you suggest?
I've been told that RENT was a great movie, but I found it horribly boring and I just couldn't get into it.

singin' in the rain
seven brides for seven brothers
gentlemen prefer blondes
my fair lady
holiday inn
any fred astaire and ginger rogers movie

oh yeah! i haven't seen it yet, but i really want to: once
i can't believe i left this out: sound of music :)

Grease, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables

Grease is good, HSM 1&2, Saturday night fever, Footloose

little shop of horrors was/is a great movie. I acually really liked Idlewild as well as Dream Girls.

MOULIN ROUGE!!
no boring points at all in this AWESOMELY CATCHY MUSICAL MOVIE! whoo!

Phantom of the Opera
Evita

My suggestions:

Moulin Rouge-bizarre, yet brilliantly made.

The Producers-hilarious Mel Brooks musical.

Singin' in the Rain-one of the all-time classics.

Sweeney Todd (when it's released on DVD in April)-best movie of 2007, bar none.

Take your pick!

Reefer Madness (2005). It is an excellent film that exaggerates on the horrors of marijuana. The songs are great and so are the actors and actresses and it's also hilarious.

Here are some suggestions - some you may not have heard of, but I figure you know most of the current or popular ones already:

"Bugsy Malone" - a cute movie with kids as gangsters, lots of great songs, voted in a list of top 100 musicals, stars Scott Baio and Jodie Foster (when they were kids back in 1976). See http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074256/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bugsy_Malon...

"1776" - a movie of the broadway musical about the founding fathers. See http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068156/

"Oliver!" - a musical version of the Oliver Twist story. See http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063385/

"Rocky Horror Picture Show" - a cult-classic musical about a couple that gets stranded at the residence of the bizarre Dr. Frankenfurter. See http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073629/

"Cabaret" - a musical set in Germany during the rise of the Nazi party, won about every award you can imagine. See http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068327/

"Chicago" - a more recent musical than the above, actually surprised me with its quality, as I had little faith in modern movies to translate well into musicals. Stars Renee Zellweger, Richard Gere, others, see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0299658/

Hope you enjoy them!

um hello! "The Rocky Horrow Picture Show" =)
