I would be more apt to call it sci-fi.....

I would go with Sci-Fi more than anything else. Maybe third one tended to be more action than pure Sci-Fi.
ya i guess you could call it that because of his adventure to get to where he is, but thats not the main type of movie
I would call it a sci-fi movie with a lot of action. Basically it depicts a world where machines rule and human beings are blissfully ignorant. In the machines' world, the laws of physics do not apply, so the characters can pull off some pretty sweet stunts, e.g. the famous leaning backward to dodge bullets.
Sci-fi/adventure/thriller.
