Is the movie "There Will Be Blood" against Christians?!

Question: I didn't see it but I read that at the end the atheist character (Daniel Day Lewis) kills the Christian character in a horrible way

Answers: I didn't see it but I read that at the end the atheist character (Daniel Day Lewis) kills the Christian character in a horrible way

The main Christian character in the movie (the one who is brutally killed at the end) is manipulative, thirsty for power, and hypocritical. And, yes, the main character is atheist. However, I don't think that the movie is trying to promote an anti-Christian message. Both men are clearly horrible people, regardless of their religions, and the irony for the Christian man is that the way he acts is wholly un-Christian.
Thus, I think the movie is really trying to make a point about hypocrisy, greed, etc. I don't think it is trying to represent Christianity as a whole in any way.
Definitely try to see this movie while it's still in theaters! I was riveted by it... but I can see where it wouldn't be as exciting to watch at home.

It is about a power mad oil Barron. it may have some bad things happen to Christians in it but I don't think that was a central theme. Actually I turned it off after the first half hour because it was so boring. I think it only got decent reviews because Lewis was the main actor. Sometimes good acting can save what would otherwise be a lousy story.
