Who understands the story in the movie WAR?!
Question: I saw it on theaters (I know long ago) then saw it agian on DVD. Why is Rogue (Jet Li) betraying everybody? I noticed that he said several times in the film, "I have no master" then when later says he serves only Chang (one of his bosses.) Can anyone shed some light? thanks

rogue is really the crawford's partner. he turns into rogue after the house got burnt down. rogue was first the guy wit the mask, but the partner guy killed him and he turns himself into rogue as a disguise so that he can secretly kill off all the gangs for revenge

Rogue was sent to kill Jason Stateman's partner, using information provided by Jason Stateman.
Rogue kills the partner's family, but fails to kill the partner.
The partner kills Rogue and assumes hi identity so that he can infiltrate the underworld and destroy it. Which is pretty much what is happening the entire movie (the betrayals).
His family was killed. I don't know about you or any body else, but I only owe my allegiance to my family. It's my family over everything else. He lost his family and was out to get even. Now, he tells everybody that he worked for Chang so that everyone he crosses or eliminates, they put the blame on Chang as obviously, being the boss, only he could have ordered the hit. With that, he gets his 'boss' in the line of fire, too...making everybody going for everybody else's throats. The last man standing would be for easy picking. No sweat.
Jet Li Character partner was digging up old cases that was already solved and after his family was murder he became the Rogue and killed all the people who was involved with the murder and he knew that his partner would evenly come after him and he would confront him and make him remember and then kill him.
