Do movie theaters require a photo ID, or do they accept the temporary licenses y!
Question: I might go get my drivers license, and here, they give you a temporary license without the picture (they give you your real one a few weeks later).
If I wanted to go see an R-rated film at the movie theater, would they accept the temporary license? Or do I have to have the photo ID so they can tell it's me?

I've used a temp. license before, but I had to show a picture ID along with it. Usually any picture ID is okay such as school ID, passport, military, work, etc.
you need a photo i.d to get into "R" movies
I would think as long as you have another form of ID like a credit card with your name on it then you should be fine.
It depends on where you live. I saw my first R-Rated movie when I was 14 and no one asked to see my ID. I am an avid horror movie fan and I see unaccompanied 6 and 7 year olds in the theater all the time in R-Rated movies (in a very different town than where I grew up).
Some places are more strict ... I wish I lived in one of those places.
i work in an AMC theatre and we require all people to have photo id with them. if you don't have a drivers license... a school id and permit are valid also... or a school id and birth certificate... i hope this helped you out.
