What disney DVDs have came out already & what ones wont be coming out again ?!
Question: Im confused , My sister told me there is a "volt" & when they open it , for example they take out "The little mermaid" , once they close the "volt" it wont come out again for along time .
Is that true ? She said you wont be able to find it unless your paying like 50$s .
So basically , I want to know if anyone knows what DVDS have came out already , for how long are they staying out ? When are they coming out again ? & What ones are coming out soon ?
Im really trying to see if like Walmart or Target would have them .

Dinsey uses the term "vault" as they maintain strict control over the realse of their movies. They generally issue them for a limited time then any unsold are returned to Disney by the stores. The only way to get them after that (at least legitimate originals) is through ebay and other auction sites. An example was "The Aristocats" which was recently reissued. The original DVD was issued several years ago and, until the new release, would cost you around $60 to $70 to purchase.
At any one time Disney has a large number of DVD's out in general release and it is generally only the "classics" that are issued for a limited time such as Snow Whtie and the SEven Dwarfs, The Aristocats, 1001 Dalmations, Aladdin, The Lion King, etc. Some movies are issued in "different" versions repeatedly (i.e. Winnie The Pooh has been out almost constantly in different editions). If you want to know which ones are available in release you can check the Disney Movie Club which was recently established. I find it a good source of information as to what movies are available (although some are only available through the club).
The length of time the movies are out varies before they are recalled.

Yes there is a volt on them but u don't have to pay $50 for them once they go back in the volt the store carries it until they run out and then u can get it on eBay and stuff like that.
All 3 Cinderella's are out and just went back in the volt in January u can prob. still check some stores they may have them in. It's just the classic Disney movies that r going back into the volt for 10-15 years not movies like HMS and Hannah Montana
