I would have to say in 1995 for Forrest Gump and in 1999 for Saving Private Ryan..
1995 Forrest Gump had a major runaway with Oscar
1999 Saving Private Ryan won a fair amount however no best picture only best director for Speilberg

I don't watch them anymore. I usually just look up the results online and look at all the stars in Peope or In Style magazines.

Transformers was snubbed. Borne should not have won any of that over Transformers.

When LOTR: Return of the King won 11 awards. It was about time that those films won anything much less 11 Oscars

I always agree with some of the awards and disagree with others. You have to keep in mind it is not the public voting on these. It is film industry people and they always tend to prefer what I call "artsy fartsy" films. Just because a film has won an Academy Award does not mean I will like it and vice versa. I have seen some Academy Award winners that I thought were terrible movies. One I can recall is "Lost in Translation" which was supposed to be so great and all I can say is BOOOORRRIIINNNG!!!
By the way for those of you who liked Transformers - it also sucked. It had no plot and I couldn't wait for it to end. Special effects was ALL it had.
