Have you seen the movie "No Country for Old Men"?!

Question: If so, your opinions are requested. I'd never heard of it until the Oscars.

I can honestly say yes I saw it, when if first came out in December. In my opinion, and the Academy's, it was the best acted movie in 2007. Javier Bardem was simply amazing in the movie and deserved the Support Actor win. I also though Tommy Lee Jones did a great job and should have earned a double nod by getting Supporting Actor for No Country for Old Men and Actor for In the Valley of Elah.

You're more than welcome, trust me go watch it. I work in a movie theater and saw 100 movies last year so I'm not picking it out of 3 movies. Report It

  • Have not seen it.

no but I read the book and it was pretty good

No but I read the book I liked it...

No, I haven't, but now I'm curious...thanks for the info, have to check that out for myself now, thanks for asking.

have not seen it and proably never will.

Because of your name, you should see it for sure.
It takes place in rural Texas. It is so authentic you feel like you are there. This is not a "feel good" movie. It involves a stone cold killer and an old lawman who pursues him.

    Yes, i saw it.
It was...okay. I thought there were some amazing performance and whatnot but overall i thought the film was overrated

Yep. Never saw any of the oscar nominees though, so I can't say whether it deserved the Oscar or not. It's a movie where you either like it a lot, or thought it was dumb. I loved it. It has one of the creepiest, bad $#@ villains I've seen in a movie in a while. Some people hated the ending, I guess that leaves it up to you. I would tell anyone to see it, but hey, that's my opinion.

I've seen it, and I enjoyed it, but I by no means think it was so incredibly good that it deserved an Oscar. (I fail to see why the Cohen Brothers are so touted as great filmmakers -- their films are entertaining, but I just don't understand.)

Javier Bardem's performance alone is worth seeing the film. He's so creepy and cool, I thought he was fantastic. The movie itself is full of suspense and action, but it's offset by a bunch of random scenes that make no sense and don't belong in the movie. (They're in the book as well.) It was just really overrated, I think, but still worth a watch.

I've seen it, and I thought it was awesome. You have to like violence, revenge, cold blooded killers, and the Cohen brothers. If you like the the movie Fargo you'll love no country for old men.

I saw it and I loved it! Very dark, quirky and violent but interesting and exciting, too. Javier Bardem is scary as h*ll and Josh Brolin as awesome. All the rest of the actors are great, too. It's a very different part for Tommy Lee Jones, too. The ending is abrupt - initially, you'll say "Huh?" - but it makes you keep thinking about it. Smart movies do that, though, so if you don't mind using your brain, check it out.

Sadly not yet! But I am a major fan of the Coen Brothers' films!
