Helping a friend find a sci-fi movie???!

Question: My friend is looking for a sci-fi movie, and I'm not even sure if it's out yet; she says that it has something to do with aliens nearly wiping out the world's population, and the remaining Earth people have taken to space to fight the aliens, and the aliens create an army of clones of Earth's mythological monsters to fight the humans...

I've never heard of anything like this; have you???

Ah, man!!! I think I know what movie you're describing; I saw it on one of the many advance screener DVDs, which I have arrangements to get hold of, so that I can do online advance critiques on them. Give a little time, and I'll find it (...and I'll acknowledge anyone who finds it before I do!!!)...

(edit)

Aha!!! Found It!!! Tell your friend to get happy, 'cause the film, which she is looking for, is the sci-fi/horror/action cheapie, "Recon 2020: The Caprini Massacre"; here's the basic plot of the film...

"The Earth is a barren rock of radioactive devastation. The human species has taken to the stars in their struggle for survival against an evil, unseen race from a distant galaxy, the Ma'hars.

The ongoing battle is getting desperate - good thing the humans have their Galactic Marine Infantry to step into the fray. An elite squad is prepped for what has to be a suicide mission in the Caprini system, deep behind enemy lines.

Their goal is to reconnoiter the disused colony factories, where there have been indications of mysterious activity. Sergeant Sharp and his team are horrified when they discover part of the Ma'hars sinister plan: Bio-weapons based on human mythological creatures. Zombies, werewolves, vampires...

Attacked by unstoppable cyborg assassins left behind to patrol the grounds, confronted to giant mutated beasts and the former colonists turned into mythical monsters straight out of an old Hammer film, Sharp and his team struggle to bring to light what really happened on Caprini.

That is, until a brand new enemy surface. A former soldier with a grudge against the Space Marine Corps. has become the leader of an apocalyptic horde of barbaric scavengers and now works for the deadly Ma'hars. Someone who is determined not to give Sharp a single chance to leave Caprini alive...

And all Sharp and his team have going for them is their guns, their guts and a mouthful of tough-guy talk…"

The Mutant Chronicles (2008)?
Earth's natural resources have been exhausted by mankind and battle rages between the soldiers of four leading Corporations: the Capitol, Bauhaus, Mishima and Imperial.

Mitch Hunter (Thomas Jane) and Nathan Rooker, battle hardened Capitol soldiers, fight a desperate battle against a Bauhaus advance. When an errant shell destroys an ancient stone seal, they find themselves facing a new enemy: hideous NecroMutants, with bone blades that grow from their arms. Mitch barely manages to escape. Nathan does not.

The mutants multiply by millions and they destroy all before them.

It sounds a little bit like Planet of the Apes but I don't think it is.
