Who thought Juno was making a serious issue really light-hearted?!

I went into the film thinking that but after I saw it, I don't think it made it look easy at all. And she was ridiculed at school by classmates- how is that glamourizing it? I think it handled the subject matter in an honest yet exaggerated light.
Question to you- have you taken the time to see the movie or are you making assumptions?
I agree with you, but I still laughed really hard at the funny one-liners.
It's not glamourising teen pregnancy....how come hollywood can't just talk about a subject without the public and the media saying its Glamourising it ........ teen pregnancy is a big deal and its better to talk about issues like this then to sweep it under the rug..... and if it takes a funny movie for parents to talk to their children about it then so be it and if you watched the movie it was funny but their is definetly NOTHING GLAMOUROUS ABOUT IT
Opening up dialog through a smart and funny film does not glamorize a very real and current issue.
I took my 14 year old daughter to see Juno and I thought the same thing at first. But, I loved Diablo Cody's screenplay and she really put a twist on the old subject of teen pregnancy. Honestly, I don't think that Juno would have had any regrets or psychological damage, she just seemed to really accept that she and Paulie couldn't be parents at that stage in their lives. And, the response of the boy was both typical and surprising in the end. IMO, it didn't glamorize pregnancy; it just put more realism in to what parents should watching for and the realities that pregnant teens face.
