First off, you dont know everything because I doubt you've ever heard of actresses such as Dolores Costello, Corinne Griffith or even on a more popular note, Louise Brooks. Have you ever seen films starring Lon Chaney Sr. or a film directed by F.W. Murnau? Or perhaps the greatest film ever made "Sunrise"? You still have a lot to learn and if you like Alfred Hitchcock you need to desperately get into the films of his rival Henri-Georges Clouzot, who Hitchcock himself at one point considered "The Master."

I do praise you for being young and into some of the greatest films ever made like Vertigo and Rear Window and films that dealt with controversial subjects like William Wyler's The Children's Hour. However, there is a plentiful more to silent films than that of Valentino and Gloria Swanson.

My top favorites are:

He Who Gets Slapped[1924]
The Unknown[1927]
Sunrise[1927]
Show People[1928]
Orphic Trilogy[1930, 1950, 1960]
Earth[1930]
I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang[1932]
Das Testament des Dr. Mabuse [1933]
Nightmare Alley[1947]
The Set-Up[1949]
Ordet[1955]
Soy Cuba[1964]
Persona[1966]

I loved Casablanca,
Yellow Submarine
Hard Days Night
The Birds
Physco

I love old movie too. My favorites are "Gone With The Wind" and "Dr. Zhivago".

Haha I'd have to say that you're on your own for this one. My mom watches a lot of that stuff and I watch it with her sometimes when I don't feel like hogging the TV. Casablanca's a pretty good one though.

All About Eve, Mildred Pierce, and Imitation of Life

Rear Windows is my fave Hitchcock movie. If you can find it, I highly recommmend "Rope".

I have a large collection of old movies. Other recommendations are:

Citizen Kane (of course)
Dr. Strangelove (personal fave)
Sunset Blvd.
Birdge over the River Kwai

I love these:
Gone with the Wind
Sea of Grass
Rebbecca
Oklahoma!
