NC-17 Rating? What does it take?!
Question: Ive seen all saw and hostel and other really disturbing movies in the past and supprisingly, they were all rated R. With all the torture and gore in both movies, I think they deserve a NC-17 rating. If torture and gore doesnt fit into the NC-17 rating then what does?

As we've mentioned before, sex and nudity seems to be all that gets an NC-17. In today's political scene, we have a Prez that keeps saying torture is OK, so the movies' ratings reflect that. The same Prez is a 'born again" Christian, so he thinks sex and nudity is sinful, so those elements are judged much harsher. How a real Christian can reconsile torture as OK and love as sin is beyond me.
I agree, BTW, that torture, murder, and mutilation are MUCH more disturbing than sex and nudity.

It's just the cuts made, they're in strategic places to make sure it's an R.
