Phony British Accents?!
Question: Don't it just bug the crap out of you when American movie stars try and fake a British accent in movies. The movie would be much better if they would just hire a Brit to play the part, if the character is for a Brit.

...let's not forget about Kevin Costner's faltering and ever-shifting accent, in "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves" (...I absolutely loved it, and busted a gut, when Cary Elwes poked fun of this, in the trailer for director Mel Brooks' comical satire, "Robin Hood: Men in Tights")...
Dont forget phony Scottish accents,
one that comes to mind is Snotty (supposed to be Scotty) in SPACEBALLS!

The best (worst) was Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins that was just toe curlingly bad.
the ironic thing is if a British actor/actress were to try out for the role and use their natural accent, they are booted off the stage because the casting director thinks their accent is fake....hello....its the real thing.
and Mary Poppins???? i saw that once when i was very young and had to force myself to sit thru it.....never gave it a second chance....just can't stand all the fluff and lalalalalalala....its like finger nails going down a chalk board....
