Sure did die, at the end, and a lot of times he murdered his own clone, set Christian Bale character up, so he faced the drop, mind you Bales character was just as bad hiding his other brother from his wife, kept switching places then she kills herself..coz she thinks he doesn't love her.. so brilliant film but I didn't really care about any of the characters though!, except MIchael Caines character. If you like that film watch the Illusionist.. thats good too!!
