Rambo or Rocky? Best Answer 10 points?!

Answers: Which char was the best and why? 10 points to the best answer.

The answer is actually more complex than you think.

Rocky Balboa and John Rambo are Stallone's signature characters. However, in scope, depth and scale, they both vary considerably.

Balboa is an underdog, the neighborhood punk, the kid no one believed in, the outcast, the guy you wouldn't place your bets on. The depth of this character was in the struggles he faced as an underdog, his unrelenting passion to be someone, his undying wish to prove to the world that he was meant for bigger, better things. The character development was an interesting dichotomy between his sense of self as the underling and the personification of the Italian Stallion, the larger than life being that took on the world and lived to tell about it.

Rambo started as a troubled man with the weight of the world on his shoulders. Literally the embryonic "tough-guy" Stallone hand-crafted the character into one of the baddest, most incredibly powerful killing machines known to man. From my perspective, it is significantly more difficult to play Rambo than it is to play Balboa. Balboa has friends, a life, a real world situation and was not traumatized or scarred by the harrows of war. Rambo was all of the above, except instead of being traumatized, he became the essence of war, the primal, inevitable animal form of our deepest, darkest self. In the fourth installment, you can clearly see Rambo as a world-weary man that has nothing but loathing for the world around him, and pessimism for the state of affairs brought about by power-hungry men. It is also difficult to play Rambo because his ambiance is generated by the quiet storm that you see brewing behind the veil. The more he talks, the less interesting (and more predictable and vulnerable) he is. This quintessential difference between the two characters makes Rambo a strong contender.

All things considered, the winner would have to be Balboa. You can relate to the guy. I am fairly certain the average viewer can't relate as well on a personal level to Rambo.

I hope this helps! :)

rocky he is the best he is way better.

Rocky. No explanation needed, man!

rocky was definitely the best character

Rocky In the first movie you see him as an actual person with feelings emotions and heart and that carried through the rest of the franchise Rambo had no charisma He was just a man on a mission to pay back people he felt wronged him

Rambo could take out the rocky with his eyes closed, and tied in to a wall!

I love both movies and I love both characters, but Rocky is the better one. Rocky has a genuine personality and he is a guy that many people can relate to (not to say that people can't relate to Ramo) and his dialogue was funny as hell in some scenes of the movies. Rambo is a real quiet guy who keeps to himself, but when the time comes he shows his true colors and shows how skilled he is in the art of warfare.

Rocky. It went all to the way from Rocky 1 to Rocky Balboa.

ROCKY WILL ALWAYS BE #1
