OMG! You did not just call karate kid and rocky 'old time' movies. 70s and 80s are much later than old time. You do know there were movies before colour, right?
aside from that.....
The greatest movie ever (and is an old time one) is Casablanca from 1942. Every scene leads up to the next one, and contributes to the storyline. and there are so many classic lines from that movie, that have simply innundated our culture. Its also a great story about love, patriotism, and redemption. do yourself a favor and rent it.
