Usually Friday, although some cinema's show them on Thursday. Some may come out right when they're announced though, so it all depends... on the theater... :] and possibly the movie.

Generally,they open on the weekend,usually Friday,though sometimes they open an day bearly,depending on whether or not it's a holiday film or there's a tie-in as when "Independance Day"opened on July 4th
